Selina and Alberto have a private conversation aboard Carmine’s yacht. Batman captures Joker and diverts his plane into the harbor. Joker uses the word “puzzle,” which causes Batman to consider Alberto Falcone as a suspect when he remembers Alberto’s crossword obsession. Batman accuses Joker of being Holiday, but Joker counters that he intends to murder Holiday because Joker sees him as competition. Joker hijacks a small plane with the intent of spraying his gas throughout the crowd. Alberto becomes insulted once again when Carmine introduces Bruce Wayne to his guests as “the son I never had.”Īt a public celebration in Gotham Square, Gordon sees Harvey and his wife arguing about Gilda being unable or unwilling to have children. As Bruce Wayne, he then attends a Children’s Hospital benefit aboard Carmine’s yacht where Bruce and Selina break off their romantic relationship. Batman arrives to find Milos’s dead body.īatman tells Alfred he believes Holiday could be Sal Maroni, Carmine Falcone, Harvey Dent, Joker, Johnny Viti’s mother Carla, or someone else entirely. Carmine’s bodyguard Milos chases Joker, but Joker escapes. Joker infiltrates Carmine Falcone’s bedroom to demand information on Holiday. Sal claims to know nothing of the ‘Holiday’ murders or why Joker let him live, saying only that Joker intends to take over mob-controlled territory. Harvey tells Batman that Joker was going to see Sal Maroni next.īatman arrives at Maroni’s to discover Joker used his laughing gas to kill most of Sal’s men. Joker surprises Harvey in his home and ultimately knocks Harvey unconscious. Batman realizes Joker is going after Harvey Dent. Calendar Man’s clue about Joker leads Batman to discover that Joker escaped Arkham Asylum prior to the first murder by blackmailing a guard. Calendar Man suggests Sal Maroni, Harvey Dent, and Joker as possible suspects. Elsewhere, the unknown assassin executes Mickey Chen and his Triads.īatman and Gordon visit Arkham Asylum to question Calendar Man since the unidentified assassin only kills on holidays. Gordon gives Harvey a gun for his protection.īatman brings Thanksgiving turkey to Solomon Grundy. Gordon finds Harvey outside Carmine’s place. Catwoman eavesdrops as Carmine angrily reiterates that Alberto is a disappointment who will never inherit the family business. Meanwhile, Gilda Dent becomes alarmed when flowers from The Falcone Family arrive at Harvey’s hospital.Ĭarmine berates his son after Alberto reveals he sent flowers to The Dents as a way of taking suspicion away from their family. Batman and Gordon interrogate Mickey, but they are forced to let him go after he offers no useful leads in their investigation. Solomon Grundy captures Mickey, but Batman convinces Grundy to turn him over. Members of Mickey’s Triad gang battle Batman until Catwoman intervenes so Batman can continue chasing Mickey into the sewers. Suspecting him of being the hitman who was contracted to plant the bomb at Harvey’s house, Batman pursues Mickey Chen to Chinatown. Harvey’s house suddenly explodes, which puts Harvey in the hospital.
Harvey returns home to his emotionally distant wife Gilda, who appears distracted by an unknown issue. Catwoman convinces Batman and Harvey to burn the money to hurt Falcone. Carmine kicks his son Alberto, a nebbish obsessed with crossword puzzles, out of the room as Carmine continues to talk business with his men.īatman follows Catwoman to a Falcone warehouse where she shows him a stockpile of cash.
Carmine’s bodyguard Milos Grapa throws Antoni down a stairwell for disrespecting Carmine. While Carmine blames Harvey Dent for making him a target and turning Viti against him, Carmine’s henchman Antoni suggests that rival crime boss Sal Maroni may be responsible for Viti’s death. Batman sees Catwoman spying on the conversation.Ĭarmine Falcone meets with his crime family to discuss Viti’s murder.
Harvey laments that Viti was about to turn state’s evidence that would have taken down his uncle Carmine. The killer leaves a jack o’lantern at the crime scene.īatman, police captain Jim Gordon, and district attorney Harvey Dent meet to discuss the murder. An unknown assassin executes Johnny Viti, the nephew of Gotham City mob boss Carmine ‘The Roman’ Falcone, in his bathtub.
